Goals and Objectives
  • Recommend routine anemia screening for patients
    in long-term care settings.
  • Develop a protocol for differential diagnosis of
    anemia for patients with hemoglobin concentration
    lower than 12 g/dL in women or 13 g/dL in men.
  • Identify patients for whom erythropoiesis-
    stimulating agents are indicated.
  • Create a strategic plan for managing the anemia of
    chronic kidney disease in long-term care settings.
